Home > Massachusetts Colony "Sir Edmund Andros (1637-1714), colonial Governor, was born in London, England, December 6, 1637, son of Amias and Elizabeth (Stone) Andros. He distinguished himself in the war with the Dutch, and in 1672 was commissioned major in Prince Rupert’s regiment of dragoons.
